Jen, I have been suffering from these symptoms for years. I have bulging, ruptured disks and arthritis in lower back. Stemming from years of back breaking work, multiple car accidents and a wreckless childhood. I have tried everything and nothing helps. Got the shot about 3 weeks ago and it lasted 1.5 weeks. Best 1.5 weeks in past 10 years. Just got it again 3 days ago and it did not help at all. My next and last step before laser surgery is Radio Frequency Ablation. This is where they use Radio Frequency to burn the nerves that are causing the pain. My doctor says this will probably work well for me and is relatively safe. The pain relief should last until the nerve grows back. The older you get the slower nerves grow, so I am hoping for lasting relief. If this don't work Tampa has the laser institute and they are supposed to be able to fix me up in about an hour. I feel for all of those that suffer from these types of discomfort and many of us do. I know you have chosen your current course of action for now and I hope it works well for you. I will let you know how RF goes for me, just in case your course is short lived, you will have some incite to some other types of procedures.
John K. replied:
You may need surgery for those disks. Have a good doctor check you out. Don't fool around. Go to Rush in Chicago. The Midwest Orthopedics Clinic. They will give you the strait poop. Don't settle for any other place when you are talking about your spine. Dr. Goldberg is the best. He fixed me up.

Jen, I had planned on trying to visit while I was around. Just didn't want to say anything until I was certain it was in the cards. I wanted to perhaps go to Yorkville and do lunch with you and Mike and then Plano to see Ponch and Niki Diaz for dinner. At this stage nothing is in stone except the Dells with son and grand daughter from this Thursday - Sunday and I think the following Friday, Sat, and Sun are reserved. Next Monday - Thursday nothing in stone, however the trip is focused on visiting as many friends and family possible. I will contact you sometime next week and see if we can work something out.

So I'm a vet with a spinal issue from overseas. Before the Davenport VA Clinic got their chiropractor (who I can't speak highly enough of) I saw 2 different practitioners in the QC area. Originally I was seeing Chad at Discover Chiropractic and he did some good work. However, the VA had me stop seeing them and I went to Hoover Chiropractic on Kimberly because of insurance purposes. They do less adjustments more of the "chiropractor gun" to do realignment. I had never felt better (till the new VA one came in, she uses a more Eastern Chiropractic technique to treat as opposed to western technique like palmer) and had mobility in my neck and back that I hadn't had in years. They were great to work with at Hoover and even now that I haven't seen them in months they're working with me on my medical records and the VA who lost them. Fairly cheap

Chiros are a scam. I’d see a physical therapist or something

Try getting a massage first. If it don't help get an adjustment. I'm not a believer in chiropractic care as medicine. But I think it can feel good, and be relaxing. And if something feels good and makes you happy, that's okay as long as it's safe. Neck snapping isn't safe.

Absolutely.....Dr. Torry fits the bill. Near-immediate fixes when broken...no unnecessary repeat visits. I try to go every 30-60 days for maintenance and have no issues while adhering to this schedule. No experience with the younger, so be sure to request the elder. https://www.advancecarechiropractic.com/
