I would highly recommend acupuncture instead, I have had back problems for almost 20 years and have tried everything, it is the only thing that has helped, to get a good treatment you have to go to a DOM (doctor of oriental medicine). Louise of The Natural Path to Health is fantastic, she is in South Daytona, her number is 846-0995.

Only Palmer buried Lerner in the archives and made Maynard's into a green book: http://library.palmer.edu/content.php?pid=596574&sid=4920620

His second book is cool. A best of - 1 quote per day - of DD. http://www.amazon.com/SELECTIVE-WRITINGS-Daniel-David-Palmer/dp/B004SS67M0/ref=sr_1_5?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1431364170&sr=1-5
Steve T. replied:
Lerner must have had some access as he quotes from issues of The Magnetic Healer and The Chiropractic. Also, from the early issues of The Chiropractor. The whole Lerner report is an interesting conundrum: Where did he get some of his information? He makes statements that are not supported by any documents most of us have seen. Did he have full access to archival material? Why are there pages missing? There is much good substantiated material in it and much that seems unsubstantianted. However, if he had access to materials that we don't--perhaps much of what he has written is NOT so unsubstantiated--we simply may not have access to what he had access to. At this point, there really is no way to know. Another frustrating mystery.

Dr. Joe taught us a chiropractic history course at Life in 1980. The course was based on reading his book and listening to his stories. Very nice, interesting man and the course was a breath of fresh air, a nice break from the rigors of learning microbiology, et al. It appeared like he and Dr. Williams were very close. They spent a lot of time together. I thought he would write a book on Dr. Williams but it never happened. I wasn't a smoker but he could be found outside the classroom smoking his cigarettes and eager to have a conversation with a student about chiropractic history and/or philosophy.

So, Simon, I've started to re-read Keating's 'BJ of Davenport', and, lo and behold, the 'DD hit his head while incarcerated in 1906' narrative makes a brief appearance on p. 95, with a citation to a Gibbons article on the patricide allegations. Chiropractic History 14(1):28-34.

I've been to several here in town. Dr. Leo Elgatian is good, Dr. Jeff Hanssen, also good. I went to Krueger for yrs. but finally had to move on, he just wasn't getting things done for me, he IS probably the cheapest in town. Dr Sherry Campbell in Wilton is very good, she uses some different techniques, that I like. But if one of these can't fix me for something particular I'll try someone else.

Here's another side of exercise/chiro. I was seen by Dr. Elgantian for approximately six weeks; several days a week. He took X-rays and told me he wasn't sure if he could help me. I was on disability and covered through Medicare. What he used for me was a fairly new piece of equipment (several years ago). It basically stretches the spine/body. It didn't help me out so I discontinued seeing him. Then Medicare sent me a letter saying "It appears you didn't know we wouldn't pay for this...." and Dr. Leo didn't charge me a thing. My point is that chiropractic obviously isn't for ALL back problems but I sure had hope he had been able to help.
