Does anyone know of any propper bike shops in the midlands (Coventry/Birmingham area to be specific)? I'm currently back in the midlands for summer (Nuneaton...

There are two bike shops in coventry. Used to be a good one in Nuneaton too but I think they went bmx specific when the race track was built. Anyways ride in Coventry it's on lockhurst lane and is the same side of the city as Nuneaton. Specialises in road bikes really but have a great team of mechanics. Albany cycles in earlsdon, on Albany road also have great mechanics and tend to be a little cheaper than ride. Will add addresses when I get near a pc

Hawks is good for beginner to medium bikes (£100 ish - 500 ish), they do better accessories. (Good repairs / servicing) Albany is good for medium to high end (£500 - £1,000+). (Haven't tested for repairs / servicing) Jardine cycles do a mix of both, however have a smaller supply. (Haven't tested for repairs / servicing). Decathlon / Halfords are your standard stores. (Good repairs / servicing)

I'd give Decathlon a chance, I find their mechanics to me friendly and knowledgeable, and I've been very pleased with the services they've performed on my bike. The only thing that may be an issue is I'm not sure whether they'd service a bike not sold by Decathlon, so that might be worth checking.

[This place](http://www.bicicielo.com/) is in the centre of Birmingham and does servicing. It's a pretty high-end Pinarello concept store but they know their stuff and I guess if you're buying a Canyon then they'll be used to working with similarly fancy bikes. I haven't bought anything from there (need to save some pennies first...) but went in to window shop and everyone I spoke to seemed great.

There's an Evans cycles in the center of Birmingham just down from the cathedral.
