Looking for quiet, tranquil massage place with high quality massages Been to a few here in town where people are chatty or honestly not good at giving a firm yet...

I lovveee That’s the Rub, super relaxing, the most friendly staff and they have a decent selection of fun products to buy too. I did the 60 minute deep rub and it was wonderful I felt so relaxed.

As the spouse of a massage therapist, I feel qualified to say that if you don't tell them what you want (and don't want) during a massage, the results will likely not match your expectations. That said, some therapists are just not up to the task of deep tissue or heavy pressure techniques. Let them know upfront that's what you want so they can either direct you elsewhere if it's not one of their specialties, or not schedule you at the end of a lengthy day filled with other deep tissue sessions. I recommend finding someone at Bloomington Community Massage on Lincoln St., but obviously I'm biased.

Spaah does not have a very tranquil atmosphere, mostly because of the decor, but also because you can clearly hear street traffic from the massage rooms. I once had a very chatty masseuse there, too.

I like Tranquil Vibe Day Spa. None of the massage therapists have spoken during the massage. I’ve done the Relaxation Massage and the Deep Tissue. Both were equally satisfying.

The best massage I've gotten in Bloomington, and perhaps ever, is from someone at Bloomington Community Massage. I've gone to Spaah (so-so) and That's the Rub (above average) but I don't plan to go anywhere else now that I've found my magical happy place. If you want firm, they can give you that. I'm in less pain right now than I have been in YEARS.

DYING, stress is killing me. Anyone have recommendations of a decent/cheaper massage therapist? I normally pay 80 + tip for an hour..
Valerie M. replied:
Leisa Parks is out at True Health and Wellness and will do an amazing job for about 2/3 the price of that. She's the only person I would see in B-town area and teaches massage students in Indy.

Crystal Stonebraker is very good! Tell her I sent you!
Any massage therapists specifically trained in lymph drainage massage? Would be a prenatal client.
Cynthia P. replied:
Ann Dorwin is certified in this, worked specifically with prenatal clients, and is amazing. Not sure how to hook you up with her. I'll try to send her this post.
