Can anyone in the Bluefield area recommend a chimney sweep?

Google national chimney sweep guild. I would suggest only using a Certified Company. The guild can provide the info. Or Google CSIA. I've owned and sold two sweeps businesses. Not saying there aren't sweeps that aren't certified or members of the guild that aren't good companies. Just a certified sweep has had to pass some testing and I like to think you will maybe have a better chance with an educated company. My guys were all certified and field trained before turning loose in a customers home on their own.

Alan Dempsey, none within 100 miles and no one I know will offer up a toddler.

We did a lot of repair work for HVAC contractors. They didn't want to clean, inspect, or line a flue. They want to replace a unit, leaving the dirty holes to us, inspection, repairs to us. Several companies we inspected the flues before they installed a new gas or oil system. They were the better companies and understood proper flue sizing, safety, and liability for connecting to a flue now meeting standards or oversized. Hope I haven't given you too much info and confused you. I took this very serious knowing we could burn a house down or heaven forbid we were involved in a death from a system we worked on. That why education is so important to the chimney company and the customer. There's a lot of risk in the chimney business and there's still companies that don't get it or understand the risk. There the low ball-ers we competed with. That's ok. My companies were the most costly in the area and work wasn't a problem. We sold peace of mind and stood behind it.
