We cannot get rid of our coonie's ear infection, even with vet meds. Any suggestions?
Leslie W. replied:
We're using a product called "Eco Ears" (Google the name). It's doing a great job.

Do you know what type of infection it is? I know I've had bassets and coonies with yeast infections and I've been able to keep those at bay by changing their food and also using the purple ear cleaner. I've had wonderful luck by choosing a food off t he list at http://www.nzymes.com/.../Pet-foods-recommended_For... and they keep that list up to date with changes or recalls. I currently have my one yeasty boy on Natural Planets Organic and he is doing wonderfully! He got very yeasty on Nature's Domain and this cleared him up in a few weeks. For the ear cleaner I used to make my own but now I just buy it premade as it is easier. It is called k9 Liquid Health, http://www.liquidhealthpets.com/.../k9-ear-cleaner-for-dogs/
Can anyone recommend an affordable and reputable vet in the west Boca area?
Cara B. replied:
561-883-3525 Clintmore and 441 in Publix Shopping Center is Dr. Chadwick For a little bit they lost Dr. Chadwick, and they liked this one too - Elizabeth Waugh - 561-482-6308 - off of 441 just south of the other one (same shopping center as the Outback)

My folks have been following around the same vet since we moved to Boca when I was in 2 nd grade (92?)...Dr. Chadwick. He's awesome. Do you want me to get his info?
Evan R. replied:
Cara Battistella, yes!
Cara B. replied:
Justin, that's where we always used to go. When Dr. Chadwick left there was some shady stuff happening and they royally screwed up Spike's blood sugar levels, so we left and found Dr. Chadwick again.

Hi Glo - I saw that at least one St. Petersburg vet offers sliding scale and low-cost vet services: http://petpalanimalclinic.com/. If that doesn't do the trick, let me know and I can try to help track down some other options.
