Dr. Butler-Poku is an amazing doctor but her office is an absolute mess. Staff is so unorganized. But she is awesome! Just be prepared to be double booked and wait around forever.

Valley Women for Women. My wife went to them for our last two kids. They're great. I got to deliver all my kids too, so that's an option. It's fantastic. After the last one, the midwife joked about hiring me.
Can anyone recommend a good female ob/gyn who is naturally-minded, or an ND that has experience with ob/gyn in the Boise or surrounding area?
Soraya M. replied:
The nurse midwives at Treasure Valley Midwives are great! They offer many well women type exams from yearly exams to family planning.
Ashley W. replied:
Rocky Mountain Health and Wellness. Cynthia Culp is incredible. They approach health from a natural and holistic view, very in depth treatments and preventative care. They look at the entire body to find causes instead of just masking symptoms. Cannot recommend Cynthia enough.
Raine S. replied:
Ashley - thank you for your recommendation, I have not heard of Cynthia or Rocky Mountain Health and Wellness. Great information, I appreciate it!
Ashley W. replied:
Also, for another general doctor who is wonderful, look up Boise Natural Health. They practice alternative medicine and naturopathic medicine. The stories I have heard of lifelong ailments being cured with their methods are pretty astounding. Definitel y something to check out if you don't enjoy pumping your body with chemical brews and toxic pills that all the other doctors give you. They know the value of natural practices at this place.
Soraya M. replied:
You bet. I should disclose I started working for them a month ago in a non medical capacity, but have had my yearlies there since my little was born 3 years ago. I would also recommend Nicole E Pierce from Boise Natural Health.
Jenny E. replied:
Dr Margaret Jones has an office in downtown Boise. She has an ultrasound machine in office. She is fantastic. Natural minded when it is appropriate and medical when she needs to be.
Raine S. replied:
Yes, I have been to Joan Haynes at Boise Natural Health for other reasons and she is wonderful. Thanks again everyone for the recommendations. Things seem better today but I have a great collection of referrals I can now use if/when needed. So appreciated, thank you!!:)
Kristin Y. replied:
I use Carol Beck. Abundant life health care.

Steve Y. replied:

Laurynda W. replied:
If he has not read them already, Herman Wouk's "Winds of War" series. I read them in high school. A chronicle of a family throughout WWII. He wrote "The Caine Mutiny" as well. Very epic stories. He might also enjoy books by Leon Uris, Ken Follett & Martin Cruz Smith. I had these authors recommended to me by my Dad, who set me on the path to be a reader.
Nicholas H. replied:
...classics? Mark Twain or Vonnegut - kings of snarky...
Helen C. replied:
The Boise Public Library has it or I have a copy I can loan you for your dad. I've read it three times & I'm not even Scottish! Pre-Braveheart Scotland. Totally riveting!

I see Dr. Lowder for OB/GYN stuff. He came highly recommended, and I really like him. He offers to take care of your regular PCP stuff, but I'm actually still looking for a great internal medicine doc for me and Aaron. Let me know what you find out. Thanks. Love ya!
Looking for a good OBGYN here in Boise. I am self pay and cannot afford mine anymore. The charges are ridiculous & I realize they will be similar every where I go but...
