In Beverly, the Furniture Institute of Massachusetts has a pretty sterling reputation. Phillip Lowe is the head instructor, and he ran the NBSS cabinetmaking department for years before starting his own gig (a long while ago). Phillip Lowe gets a lot of press in Fine Woodworking magazine. For example, here's his video series on making a cabinetmakers bench: http://www.finewoodworking.com/item/109209/build-a-basic-workbench-with-built-in-storage That video series is actually shot at the FIM, so that gives you a good sense of what the place looks/works like. FIM has full-time programs, as well as part-time programs, weekend workshops and evening classes. It's not cheap, but it's probably cheaper than NBSS and you can take some classes there first to see what you think of the place and of Mr. Lowe himself. Good luck in your education.
