Looking for recommendations on a midwife, naturopath, or OB/gyn for fertility issues. I'm hoping to approach it naturally.
Meghan T. replied:
Sherie Julian with Healthy Out West in Belgrade uses supplements/natural means to balance hormones in the body (which is usually the leading cause of fertility issues) and works with getting to the root of the problems to try and fix them...and then I also know that the Bozeman Birth Center and it's midwives like to work within more natural realms to help mommas get healthy for babies..and then keeping them healthy throughout pregnancy.
Chanda W. replied:
The PCOS handbook by Dr. Hilders is really good to read too for inferility. He has done a lot of work with the Mayo clinic and has a ton of natural related info that most OBs do not condone. I was told at 15 i would never have babies, at 22 i was diagnosed as post-menopausal. Now im almost 30 and have one 18 month old and due with our second in a few weeks. I use Victoria Cain and dr. Jeff green as a naturalpath. It hasnt been easy, but OBs were no use for me.

I am using Bozeman Birth Center for my pregnancy, and they are so wonderful, full of great information and knowledge to help you in your journey. Good luck! Also, chiropractic care is great for making sure your pelvis is well aligned and helps ensure everything is working well. I recommend Dr. Ali Schweitzer at Active Family Chiropractic556-0307, she's amazing and is a wealth of information

Dr. Green in Belgrade or Dr. Hoagan and mid wives in the Bozeman OBGYN office.

Check with Bree at Ascend Wellness: Chiropractic & Acupuncture for acupuncture. I also agree that the women at Bozeman Birth Center are amazing.
Does anyone know of a doctor or midwife in bozeman area that is comfortable with breech deliveries?
Michelle H. replied:
You could call Dr. Ali at Active Family Chiropractic. She is certified Webster which is a technique that can help turn baby into proper position for birth. It would be worth a shot! Their number is 556-0307
Mychiel R. replied:
Have you looked into ICAN? They would have info on breech deliveries that you could bring to whoever you choose to help back you up. But when I was talking to Dr. Haugan at Bozeman OBGYN she worked with me well.
I am moving back to the Belgrade area by the end of the month, I will be 32 weeks pregnant and need to find a new midwife that can administer my weekly progesterone...
Aud B. replied:
Bozeman Deaconess Women's specialists has a midwife on staff who is pretty amazing. Their phone number is 406-414-5150 if you are interested.
Who is a great midwife in town? What practice are they with and why do you love them? Looking for a more personal experience than I had using only an OB with my first...

My daughter just had our first grandbaby with Stacey & Katie Birth Place Bozeman. She & her husband loved them, the support, the environment, the follow up & caring people! I was so pleased our little sweet baby came to the world that way.
Lynne G. replied:
Stacey and Kattie at the Birthplace are awesome. Very professional but warm and welcoming. I felt like I was their only client. I also had a baby with Lori Newman with OB/GYN associates. She is also a great midwife. Down to earth. We had insurance at the time, though. But as Darcy Ann said above, it's most important to find the personality and atmosphere that fits best for you and your partner.
Samantha S. replied:
I used Jamie Stafford with my second and third babies. It was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever been through. She is an amazing women who has given her all to help women bring their babies into the world. With Jamie though you will have a home birth. She does not deliver through a birthing center.
Rachel P. replied:
Stacey and Kattie at the Birthplace! I just had a baby with them this summer and it was the best experience that I've had by far! Way better than the two hospital births that I've had and those were pretty good for hospital births.

Stacey and Kattie at The Birth Place are great. We're expecting our second and are using them again.
My husband and I just found out we are expecting, very early on still just under 5 weeks. Since we are first time parents we are semi clueless to the process of what...

Bozeman Attachment Parenting Facebook group would be a good place to ask this.
Renae M. replied:
We love Stacey at Birth Place. She was my midwife for our last and bcbs insurance covered it. Also love, love, love Jazmin Price Cpm Clc, she does home births.

Congratulations!! FYI that although this is Secret Bozeman, your FB friends who are members of this group can see your posts. It's not completely anonymous. You don't need an OB. You can have a midwife from either birthing center. I highly recommend Beth Thorsen with Satori Counseling for a doula and/or Hypnobirth education.
Katie W. replied:
Not part of the question, but if you're going to need daycare, start doing your research and get on waiting lists now! Infant care is crazy in this valley
April S. replied:
Definitely check your insurance, mine covered none of those places. I ended up going to the midwives at the Billings clinic in Bozeman Deaconess hospital because they were covered (though I know 1 of them isn't there anymore, not sure if they hired another)
Mandy N. replied:
I've had two unassisted home births and have seen Mary Beth at St Catherine's. She's great...not pushy or anything, like the OB's at the hospital.
I'm looking for an obstetrician who accepts Medicaid but who has the sensibilities of a midwife. So few midwives seem to accept Medicaid. I live out in Paradise Valley...
Britt D. replied:
Cassie Belzer is a midwife at boz obgyn .. She supports natural births' and I'm pretty sure they do water as well .. Call there and ask! She's phenomenal!
Jannille M. replied:
Dr. Bradford has been my ob/gyn for several years and is awesome, the whole group at bozeman ob/gyn are very caring and helpful. I highly recommend them, even though you may not have a water birth...
Chanda W. replied:
You won't get a water birth from any ob.. I tried to have a home birth with a midwife and hunted high and low for an ob as a back up.. I am from Manhattan and drove to livingston.. We ended up at hospital right before I got into our water bath.. Dr. Helen is a natural path and an ob although I found dr. Reid to be the most natural and supportive. Wish we would have gotten to have a water birth but at least I avoided c section! Good luck! You can pm me.. I would never recommend deaconess, their groups are too big so you'll never know who is delivering you and they told me that I may not be meant to carry and have a baby and there are other options.. Livingston stuck with me the midwives usually take payments and are worth it in my opinion... Also you could try the birth center in Bozeman, they are a group of midwives.. Not sure if they do Medicaid but I think they do..I've heard something about it..
