Does anyone know what it would take to bring in a faster high speed internet service like Verizon FIOS or Xfinity? We pay top dollar for Atlantic Broadband and...
Omar Stookey they are upgrading their equipment (and added TiVo), it has to be done in stages so there isn't loss of service. It is a big project. When you call ABB just ask them to send you a different tech, other than who has been there before especially if you are having the same issues. Sometimes it just takes someone with a different set of eyes or more experience. Hope they get it fixed for you:)

Wesley Page that is great to hear. I have had multiple other Internet services prior to moving to Kent Island 4 years ago. And all of them were much faster than ABB. I'm not saying that customer service is horrible or that they don't give money to the community. I am simply saying that I pay for a service and expect to receive that service. I have had ABB out to my house multiple times and nothing has changed. So that is very frustrating!

Shirley Leiby - hopefully the upgrades will take care of any problems. If not, definitely call us. Many times its a simple fix like resetting.

The county was also in negotiations with ABB back in November. I don't know (and couldn't find any info) where it stands today. http://www.myeasternshoremd.com/community/queen_annes_county/news/article_b5549803-176 a-54 cb-87 f6-ea5 c906 dae9 a.html

Thanks again for the Web link to the article regarding faster Internet service Craig Powell. I'll reach out to George Harvey and see if he has anymore information.

Prior to calling, run speed tests (http://atlanticbb.com/for-home/internet/test-your-speed and http://speedtest.net), unplug the cable modem and pull the battery, restart the cable modem, reboot all of your equipment and computer, run the speed tests again and write it all down. Save all of that for the NEXT time you have to call them. You'll save yourself some time going through the script that they will throw at you. If you come off sounding like yo know what you're doing and remain pleasant, just wanting to resolve the problem, it will go a long ways towards getting them to cooperate. I've found the onsite techs to be pretty good and helpful. Even had one or two of them give me private numbers and tell me to call them if things stop working!
