However, I want you to be happy with who you choose and have a bit of advice to help you pick the right photographer. Always request to see a FULL wedding album from the photographer you choose. Some photographers have stolen other's images to make their portfolio look better, or have only a couple of decent photos that they are willing to share with potential clients. By seeing an entire album, it not only helps you to get an idea of what the photographer is capable of, but it also helps you to understand what to expect. Some photographers only offer 50 images from your wedding, while others may offer 500. Getting this known ahead of time will save disappointment in the future if you are expecting more than what the photographer can offer. Different photographers have different styles of shooting and editing. Be sure that you like the style and editing your photographer has to offer. What one person may think is great, another may not. Your happiness is the most important factor. Read the small print! I've seen some that say their wedding services "only" cost $500, but then they hit you after the wedding by saying that you have to pay $1,000 for a disk of the images from the day. Know what you are paying for and exactly what you are getting for your money. Get a contract. Many people think this is to protect the photographer, but it also protects the client. This is your proof of payment for services, along with a commitment from the photographer to be at your event. Always have a pre-wedding consultation, even if it means at the bare minimum a phone call to go over your day's schedule. If a photographer is not willing to meet with you prior to your event to discuss details, they may not be as dedicated to your big day as you want them to be. Have a list of images that are important to you. Is a family member that you haven't seen in 20 years going to be there and you want a photo with them? Is it important for you to have photos with each individual bridesmaid or do you just want one photo of the whole wedding party? Your day will be done in the blink of an eye, and you may get too busy to remember to get a photo with Cousin JimBob. By discussing this ahead of time, it will increase your odds of getting the shots you want. I hope this helps you with your choice!
