Catherine Tomko, yes we live in Manette. We have a 3 yr old 80 lb Ridgeback female. She's a sweetie and we usually have friends watch her while we are out of town, but I just found out they are unavailable. She's never been kenneled so we are a bit hesitant about it.

Whatever you do, DO NOT board at Viking Kennel in Poulsbo !! My close girlfriend has 3 large dogs and boards them at the women's corrections facility in gig harbor. It's one on one care 24/7. Your pup gets to be spoiled all day, gets to play outside and inside,and loved, and you get a written report of what your pup did everyday they are there. It is low cost and high care.

I wanted to board Cooper at the Womens Correctional facility, but you need to apply months in advance. I ended up taking Cooper to Peninsula Pet Lodge in Ollala. I wasn't 100% thrilled, but they did a decent job caring for my 125 lb GSD while we spent the week in Disneyland. I'd have preferred finding a local person who would watch him.

I like Big Valley Pet Resort in Poulsbo because they have very nice enclosures for the dogs with sliding glass doors instead of metal cages, plus there is a holistic vet on site. I have also used Alder Creek, which is in between Silverdale and Poulsbo. They are nice and I never had any problems, but it has the look and feel of doggy prison with the metal cages.

Our Best Friend in gig harbor and purdy. They board but no kennel. It's a great place. Currently we are using a company out of Bremerton where they house sit for 60.00 a day for our 2 dogs 2 cats.

Try Bayview Veterinary 360 373 1465. They are pretty reasonable. It's worth a try.

Henrys Hardware has large hard plastic kennels for about 80 each...and the vet on callow..can't remember the name but she's cheaper and really nice, super old facility but so is bremerton
