Got to have my gall bladder out and just wondering if anyone has had same and can recommend a surgeon to me,

Hi Monica, I had mine out 4 years ago at New Cross. Frank Curran was the surgeon and he was very good - took over 2 hours as he was determined to do it keyhole. I think i should have tried to loose weight beforehand as it is much easier to have smaller keyhole surgery than being cut open (quicker recovery). Poor you - stones are really painful - and like Adele i had jaundice too (although it was a great tan!!). if you are having problems then its better to have it out. Val is right - its a big op and you do need care afterwards so better to stay in the night (although i guess it depends how much juggling they have to do with your insides and how long an anaesthetic you have) - Good Luck!
