Really Andy? In all the years I've been to Liverpool (working and visiting) that's never been an issue. Certainly not something I'd single out that city for anyway. Common sense to keep your valuables safe whichever city you go to. I regularly take the kids to Liverpool and have done since they were both very young. Liverpool City Centre is actually very compact and it's easy to get about on foot. Liverpool World Museum (near Lime Street Station and St.George's Hall) is our favourite of the museums. The Walker art gallery is nearby as well. Our childrens' enjoyment of the Tate largely depends on what exhibitions they have on. The Maritime and Museum of Liverpool are okay but it really depends on the what thing your children are interested in. There are few easy to do caches down at the docks, including the virtual, so it's well worth going there. Another option would be to park over on the Birkenhead side (free if you can get in the car park at Seacombe) and take the Mersey Ferry across. It's a nice trip and plonks you right by the dock geocaches. There are various tourist buses you can hop on from there if you want a guided tour of the city.
Can anyone recommend a cheap and cheerful place to eat that is also kid-friendly up near the City Museum? (Top of Park Street)... Thanks!
