experience with moving companies? We've moving to south/east Brisbane in Dec. and besides looking for a house, we need to find a moving company. Anybody have recent...

We had a good experience with mini movers.

I usually use All Purpose. Never had a problem with them. I tried Mini Movers once because they offered insurance for damages and thought they might be more efficient (as advertised at the time). They tore my couch by lifting it by an attached armrest cushion, and repositioned it so I didn't discover this until after they'd left and I'd already signed off that there was no damage.

I'm enjoying the irony of using the gift card my company gave to me buy bubble wrap so I can move away from them, heh. Been talking to Luke at Precision Interstate, or rather he's been talking to me. 'Might get them of move one of our cars and the trailer sailor too. Would love to drive from Melb to Brisbane only once.

Looks like we're going with Luke at Precision Interstate. He says $5300 for 40 cubic meters and about $700 per car.

Owner operators are better as they require word of mouth recommendations and generally take more pride and are cheaper...the big companies like mini movers have a huge turnover of staff who lack experience with ones life packed in a back of a truck you want experience..

Good movers. Ive used them twice now. Quick efficient and friendly

Go with Brisk. They're incredibly courteous, hardworking and even on a day where it was flooding and hailing, our two boys moved our house in under an hour.

Wridgeways moved me and the missus from the goldie to Wagga Wagga for around $300. We didn't have too much though, we had a problem with the payment, it turned out just to be a glitch in the system but they were good about it.

Use [The Van That Can](http://www.thevanthatcan.com.au/) who are an awesome local company! Tell them Richard from Timeless Car Cleaning sent you ;) And enjoy Brisbane! It's a great city.

Moving in 2 weeks and I settled on Good Move Removals. Good customer service experience to book, hopefully it continues. $89/hr for 2 dudes and a truck. Mini movers wanted double that at $169/hr.

Yesterday I filled out the form at FindaMover.com.au and received 7 phone calls from movers. Lots of choices. Train or Backhaul? Movers said Dec/Jan was busy so book now. We want to move Dec 10 but kinda early to find a rental house according to realestate agents. Thanks for the advice, Mack

Not specifically 'recent' but when we moved in 2012 we used Brisk Transport - on recommendation from a friend. I'm more than happy to recommend them as well, as the past few people I've mentioned them to have also been happy with their work. They don't charge from the depot like some others, only between your two locations - and if you can pre-package everything and have one or two pickup points from in your house, then they'll make very very light work of it. None of our gear was broken or damaged in the move either. Big win. edit: Interstate though? Hmmm... invest in bubble wrap.:D
