Don't know how child friendly it is, but The Udder Farm Shop on the A30 used to be nice, and so is Hunter's Lodge next to the A303.

Bruton Castle is perfect for child friendly lunches on a Thursday to Sunday. They have a basket full of toys.

The Hunters lodge nr Charlton Musgrove (between Wincanton and Bourton) is great they have farm animals you can pet and a large play fort for kids, you can sit and eat over looking it. Plus there's a lovely walk into pen Selwood next to it.
