hello all. Im looking for a good english speaking doctor does anyone know of any?
Rachel L. replied:
That has not been my case at all in the 4 years I have been here. Rather, I have found all of the medical help I need through the private sector, I even gave birth here and both of my children have had surgery through the private sector clinics. Meanwh ile, I have heard of horror stories of friends not tipping ENOUGH at State hospitals and not getting the proper diagnosis, wrong surgery, etc. It is fine if you think 10,000 HUF is too much to spend on your health, I don't.
Daxesh P. replied:
also there are lot of other clinics in Budapest check this one out http://www.swissclinic.hu/?page_id=980&lang=en
Rachel L. replied:
Telki--the service was great, the prices are cheap (I gave birth there with surgery and paid about 1/6 of the cost that I paid to give birth in Switzerland). And no tipping required... My son and daughter both had surgery there with no problem either. Nice, friendly staff, guaranteed to speak English. All facilities available. They have the Telki Clinic closer to town while the hospital is farther away. But there are other clinics available that do surgeries on site, a quick search will reveal that. Certainly all laboratory work and x-rays can be done on site at all clinics. And I disagree with you, I have had some of the best medical care of any country I have lived in-- in Hungary. The doctors are very well trained, its only that hospitals in which they work are ill equipped.

Rachel L. replied:
Do keep in mind that while First Med is expensive, you don't have to pay any "tips" to the staff and will walk out with a fair diagnosis. According to my Hungarian friends and colleagues, that is not always the case at State run hospitals--unfortunately.
Guys do you know any reliable veterinary physician ( doctor ) in Budapest.Thank you very much !

Hello Barbara, I can warmly recommend my dr: dr. Kósa Zsolt +36209434303, his office is at Károly krt. 11. (7 th district). He speaks both English and German. His office nr: +3612697846
Csömör L. replied:
Though I am certainly not a woman but come from a "gynecologist family", so you may excuse me for commenting. I would recommend dr. István Sziller who is probably one of the best doctors in Hungary and importantly a great human being too. He also worked and studied in Germany, so I guess communication should not be an issue. I do not know about his rates but you can find it out if you call his assistant at +36 30 895 0027 (hope the number is still the same). Good luck! :)
