Hi there. What usually happens is that if it’s just sprained he’ll be sent home from the vets with some pain killers and strict rest (like having him in a 1 level cage with food and water nearby so that he doesn’t use the leg much) for a few days. If the vet has a feel and suspects it may be broken then he’ll need xrays and so on... if he is letting you touch it without screaming in pain then it’s unlikely that it’s broken but can’t be sure without examining.
