Just a little announcement. Will be heading to New York, Las Vegas and Los Angeles for some small gigs in July. Anyone got any recommendations for accommodation, hotels,...

Srikanth S. replied:
Tip #1: Always try to stay near a train station or near the gig or right in the city. US is huge and the public transportation sucks because everyone has cars. Sites to use for hotels: www.kayak.comwww.hotels.com Las Vegas: Try to stay on the strip or if not, a hotel that is close to the monorail. LA: Is flat and wide. Stay near where the gig is. Consider car rental. bring gps New York: Great public transportation system. Stay anywhere as long as its in the safe areas.

Anyone aware of such blind friendly hotels in the AP region?
Kerstin B. replied:
Not very much done in this field so far in AP? Not a hotel, but check this link: http://www.gtwhi.com.my/index.php/educate/guided-tours-and-walks/for-public/walk-for-visually-impaired . It is the initiative of Paul Wong Yoon Loong from the National Council for the Blind, Malaysia together with Paul Gerarts from 'Friends of George Town Heritage'. I really hope we can copy this to Indonesia one day. Paul and friendss could become trainer for our teams...
Paul A. replied:
Thanks Yam TW for feedback. Will pass on to NCBM (National Council for the Blind Malaysia) to step up their promotion of these audio descriptive tours.
