It might be worth asking School if there is anyone who lives near you who you could ask to help you out. They'll know where all the families live and might be able to introduce you to someone you don't already know to see if you were both happy for your children to go to school with them, if you get stuck. You could also ask West Sussex's Family Information Service for advice: http://www.westsussex.gov.uk/living/children_and_families/family_information_service_h-1.aspx . I suspect the taxi question is more about whether the taxi company is happy to take them on their own (and you're happy to send them) than anything else (other children walk to/from school by themselves) and where you agree they can be dropped and you being happy with the children getting into school from there. x
