I'm not sure about the store as a whole. But Alexandra Hamilton at PetsnGroom on Walkers line absolutely loves dogs and works extremely hard to care for them. She does a great job on numerous friends dogs. She's pretty booked, but I'd check that out.

Yup. Cats are (as with dogs) almost always better for a stranger in a strange place than their owner at home. At least when it comes to grooming. You can always call and ask for Meghan Tuesday and Saturday mornings to ask her directly.

Oakville Animal Clinic on Kerr Street in Oakville. I took my Maine Coone cat there for 14 years. Her name was Baghera and feel free to use her name as a reference. They are wonderful! I think they will remember even though she has been gone a few years.....

In our experience, Bernese are a hard ticket, due to raw size! We have ended up having to use Pet Smart in the Meadowlands. We'd love to use someone locally, but we've found that typically the private groomers restrict their work to smaller dogs. That said, we've been very happy with the results up there.
