Affordable auto mechanic Wondering if anyone can recommend a affordable mechanic. I have to get a lot of work done and trying to save as much money as possible. Thanks!

I recommend Sid Riewald. My family has been taking our cars here for years, they're fair, honest, and just amazing people. He's in the little blue shop on King St. just south of the 403. [https://riewaldsgarage.ca/](https://riewaldsgarage.ca/)

Stop N' Go. They're prices are very competitive. They email a detailed report of your vehicle. They are not pushy in regards to service that you need. I had issues with my vehicle that was still under warranty and they took care of everything with the dealership on my behalf. All of the staff there is amazing. Honestly, I've been going there for years and have sent many friends and family members there. [https://www.stopngoservices.ca/](https://www.stopngoservices.ca/)

I buy new cars and always have the regular servicing done at Verway Automotive on Mainway. No up-selling. They do excellent work at a reasonable price.

In Waterdown their is Jay's Auto Services. I found them honest and prices seemed fair.

Not sure if they're still in business - I live in BC now - but stay away from Miles Transmission on Fairview St. The old owner, Miles Fleming, was rock solid. The new owner, goes by the name of 'Shade' is an absolute conman. Your wallet and car will never be the same if you let him touch your engine.

I hate that intersection, I ALWAYS get caught on it when I am on Appleby. Hating traffic lights aside, there's one on Mainway called RS Auto Clinic I had them check up my AC for my car.

I recently moved back to Burlington and on a chance took my vehicle into Burlington Auto Works to get some work done. Mark was super accommodating of my situation (not wanting to put any more work than the absolute necessary into my nearing-the-point-of-diminishing-returns rusty heap of a vehicle). He first tried sourcing parts from local wreckers before doing necessary repairs to make the vehicle safe (broken coil/suspension spring). He understood my situation and didn't pressure me into preventive replacements of the other coil springs (although he did take time to explain how they may be nearing the end of their life too). He was definitely busy so it wouldn't surprise me if it took him a couple days to see you, but I would definitely recommend trying him out before you go to Canadian Tire or someone else.

Steve Muir and team at Street Wyze Customs (http://www.swc-auto.com/) are really fantastic, they kept my 1992 Mazda Protege on the road and safe for far longer than I could have every imagined. Also Brian at Good Cars Only has been my friend's mechanic for numerous years without issue. Either are definitely worth a look.

If it's a VW, there is none better than The Bug Shop on Kenilworth in Hamilton. You wouldn't know it by looks of the shop from the outside, but they're solid. They've kept several VWs in my family running to well over 300,000 km. We've also used Riewald's Garage on King for North American cars.
