Not a physio, and not what your expecting for treatment. But he is very to specific to long term sports injuries and scar tissue problems. He uses a needle to lightly freeze the area and then with the tip makes micro dissections into the damaged tissue. All in all, most treatments are less than 10 min and you are encouraged to walk around immediately afterwards, so their isn’t much recovery. Plus the best part is, he’s a MD so it’s 100% covered under standard MSP.
The dude used to work with the Denver Broncos {on John Elways elbow no less} and the LA Kings/COL Avalanche but he is a Ski junkie so he likes to work here and go to Whistler. He does appt at North Van and Kerrisdale but I’ve been told those are referral only. I used to see him at Denman Medical, he’s there Mon-Tues.

1. Kim Yae McArthur at Van Sports Physio (downtown) is great and also does manual manipulation and IMS which not all physiotherapists are qualified to do. Her clinic also has a great osteopath named Fabio Boschetti and other services. Also heard great things about the team at Treolar.
2. You might also consider looking into active rehab with a kinesiologist if you have been cleared for returning to activities or are trying to get more active in general, I had a serious sports related injury (multiple leg fractures) that has resulted in chronic pain and have seen major improvements in strength and flexibility and core since working with Dr. Ryan Oughtred (naturopathic doctor, runs his own health/fitness studio with classes and one on one sessions with a number of kinesiologist personal trainers, he is also a former competitive athlete).
3. You could also talk to your doctor about getting a referral to a physiatrist or pain management clinic.
Feel free to shoot me a message if you want more details.

Eddie Cannon at New West Sports Medicine is the best there is. Used to be the physio for the Whitecaps. Anytime I go there's a few amateur / semi-pro athletes getting help from him.
Have you tried clinical pilates with a physio? Its covered by extended medical and really helped me rehab after back surgury.

Try and get into the Alvin McGavin Sports Physio centre. It's right downtown and you will not find better sports physio experts in Canada. https://www.allanmcgavinphysio.com/

I have to say Danny there is a good clinic doctor by lougheed, I get a lot of old people coming into safeway looking for basic remedies suggested by the lougheed clinic doctor. Things like baking soda, garlic, Gatorade, and even different teas. Tanya I wonder if maybe you talk to G-ma, that maybe you could get in and see Dr. Collette. He's pretty good and is right by Burnaby General hospital and I know this is random, but he kind of looks like Wayne Gretzky!
Tanya M. replied:
Mark was telling me Dr. Collette was terrible, but the clinic is right by my house so i might as well give it a try considering i can't find anything else at the moment
Dan M. replied:
doesn't matter what you go to see Dr. Collette for, you'll come out with a prescription. I'm not anti new world medicine, I just have a lot more respect and trust for doctors who know how to use other methods when required and not always resort to drugs for everything. I like the sounds of the Dr. Ricki described by Lougheed. ......haha Dr. Ricki, has a nice ring to it, PhD in rowing I assume. LOL
