[I've used home run movers](http://www.homerunmovers.com/) a couple times and they were pretty good on both instances. First time was from a 1BR to a 1BR and second time from a 1BR to a 2BR. Both times it was around $5-600 I believe. Either way, they were basically within 50 bucks of their estimate each time so I wasn't too bothered.

I just had a really fantastic experience with galaxy movers. They sent me 3 guys and they were all so friendly and careful with my things. Very, very happy with them.

Thanks guys and girls. I'll call the companies you guys have mentioned. Out of curiosity, how much did you tip them? My wife and I used a company three years ago and the mover said he got an $80 tip for his last job.

Go with someone recommended. I've hired guys off Craigslist and got completely screwed. Like a total no-show on moving day which was a disaster. Lots of these guys will double book since they get most of their business on the 1 st. They'll promise you they'll be there at 9 am but they also promised the other guy the same thing so you may end up waiting until around 4 pm which extra sucks when the new tenant is at the door with their stuff.

[1 Call Mover](https://www.google.ca/search?q=1+call+mover&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&gws_rd=cr&dcr=0&ei=6YbSWcC3F4SKjwOn0 rnwDg) Very efficient mover, has a big truck with instruments. 1 bedroom moved from Vancouver to Burquitlam for $300. Moved 2 months ago. Check the reviews on google, I would recommend them.

This one I used called "home run movers" were really good. They are based out of East or South Vancouver I believe. They get a lot of business though so you'd have to book a bit ahead. But super nice, professional guys who did a good job.

[Rain City Moving](http://www.raincitymoving.com/?page_id=9); $120 and up. Their service is fantastic. They moved our 2-bedroom apartment from East Vancouver to North Vancouver in 2-hours for less than $300 a few years ago. They used shoe covers and some carpet protectors in both suites, and even offered to set up our entertainment center. They can also give you reusable boxes (plastic totes) so you don't have to get boxes, they will drop them off and pick them up on your requested dates. They wrapped up everything that needed it so it wouldn't be scratched, dented, broken, whatever. It was raining the day we moved and they saran wrapped (not sure if that's the term) everything that needed it. They went above and beyond all expectations and were friendly as well. I can't recommend them enough.

Your price range is extremely reasonable. You'll have lots of options in that range. I've done a few moves (1BR+Den) for $600-$1000, but sadly I'm afraid that I can't recommend any of the companies I've worked with.

I used metropolitan movers in the spring. They were fine. Not amazing or anything but I don't think you get that with movers. 2 and 2 into a 3 and 2...not top far from each other...large truck (one trip) and it was around 600$.
