Interesting Cheryl for sure. However, at this stage, we are in good faith attempting to work with the COB rather than against them. It seems the most important issue we are facing right now is that they don't seem to realise that this issue isn't a trivial one and that it will affect half of their electorate. To date, they still have given no real rationale explaining their insistence on introducing "seasonal time limits" to our beaches. It may well be that we end up having to raise our voices if they refuse to listen to what the rate payers want. But thus far we are keeping civil and willing to engage with them. We have (and still are) conducting extensive research in many fields pertaining to the issue. The data will be given to the COB for consideration. This will be in addition to the survey they are conducting. Fingers crossed they take the time to consider the data and all its implications rather than taking a decision disregarding the research conducted by our group (research that should have been conducted by their services in the first place). At the end of the day, we can only do our best to serve our community. If it ends up in a fight…well then a pro bono lawyer would be welcome indeed. However, far from us the desire to end up in a pickle.:-)
