It seems Dr. Weston Price was against root canals, right? So what did any of you do if your dentist recommended that for your children? Anyone know of a good dentist...

Pia Kurro this group is based on the Weston A. Price Foundation philosophy, so we take his advice seriously He is right about the dangers of root canals and there are plenty of modern dentists who say the same as he did years ago. It has nothing to do with materials used in dentistry then and now, it is the procedure itself. I personally have family and friends who have had root canals and suffered the after consequences. My Dad just this summer had an infection in his face because of a root canal which was infected...it was after having it "fixed" more than once before. Weston Price, like you also said, believed healing cavities through diet and I love that he (and other dentists too) make that connection as it is so often people don't connect their diet with their overall tooth health. Here is an article from Dr. Mercola about root canals:http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2012/02/18/dangers-of-root-canaled-teeth.aspx

Also, if you get a chance, Weston Price's book Nutrition and Physical Degeneration is fabulous. I have a paper copy, but I believe you can read it online...it's long, but it's very fascinating. http://gutenberg.net.au/ebooks02/0200251 h.html
