I stayed in this awesome little place in hammersmith, super close to the tube (like an 8 minute walk). Wonderful hosts! The only thing I didn't love was that the hosts are right above you but it didn't bother me (my husband is sensitive to noise). I would stay there again in a heartbeat! https://airbnb.com/rooms/1585716?s=8

Try https://www.travelodge.co.uk they have decent size and clean rooms in central areas. Stay away from hotels in Sloane Sq. they are dirty and you would think that they will collapse on you. And the rooms are small too. You can also try Hoxton hotel too. They do have promotions time to time. You never know you might be lucky and get a room for £1 :)
HI I got the flight planned, now I wonder if you know of any good b&b near Loews Concorde (too Pricey) by Old Quebec...anyone out there stayed in one near there?
Chris M. replied:
Hi Petra, When I went in 2008 for the Winter Carnaval, we stayed at Hotel Marie Rollet. It's an old Victorian house, great location, right in the middle of old town. http://www.hotelmarierollet.com/ I would go here: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotels-g155033-c2-Quebec_City_Quebec-Hotels.html - click on B&Bs - Go down the list and Google them for their B&B websites to see what they charge. cM --- Thank me by clicking on the link below and inviting your friends & family to the group: http://www.facebook.com/groups/edit.php?members&gid=231528802679
Desperately need to house 6 international people (3 adults, 2 little ones) from March 11-19. Anyone have a B&B in Inglewood/Ramsay or a suite for rent please?
Cody T. replied:
rentfaster.ca has a few leads but not many. There is a place south of the truck stop that will only rent to students. The Burn Block has two bachelor suites coming up in March but they are in need of renovation (call Greg Scott at 4037144922). There are two hostels just outside of Ramsay that might be of value also. Perhaps there is room at The Area ( David Winkler )?
Cody T. replied:
Beverley Guthrie has a place in Kensington: http://here.bz
Peter R. replied:
To clarify - We love hosting community events, etc however there is not room at The Area for housing / resdiential accomodation.

Ok a little further out, but my husband and I got married by Emerald Lake and had our reception and guests stay at Cathedral Mountain Lodge near field. It was amazing as a venue.
Karla P. replied:
Had an aunt get married at Creekside Villa (Canmore), they set up the terrace with chairs for the small group of guests, signing table for ceremony and refreshment table at no charge (the garden in the back was getting renos) with the rooms we had booked for our group (only 4 rooms). Afterwards we walked a couple blocks down for an excellent dinner at the Iron Goat in the private room upstairs. Believe bear and bison inn was next door with a nice area for small wedding as well

These guys seem to be what you are looking for with a small venue, and a customizable wedding package. Happy planning! http://www.creeksidevilla.ca

Looking for a large-print map of Alberta or Alberta/B.C. The idea is to hang it and start marking off parks and trails I've been to. 24 inches or more ideally. Anyone...

Maptown could not help? that does not sound like maptown I know... I've bought 6 ft by 6 ft maps of Calgary from them.
silentivan replied:
If you want a big big map of Alberta, go to Calgary Pilot Supply and pick up 2 Calgary and 2 Edmonton (and maybe a Prince George) VNC maps (visual navigation chart). They're double sided, hence the need for 2 each region. Is it economical? No, but every single detail in the province is on there.
metse85 replied:
I came here to say Map Town. Surprised they couldn't help. Map World maybe? They may be able to make/order you a custom one. Also I think my Lonely Planet book of Western Canada came with a map. Not overly detailed though.

Hey, any insight on great places to stay in New Orleans, in regards to location, price and character? Read a few reviews about rooms w/o windows?!?
Thanks!
Laurie R. replied:
recommendation (from a NOLA resident who works in the tourism industry) is The Hampton Inn at 226 Carondelet Street. Just on the other side of Canal Street. Bourbon and Carondelet are actually the same street. The rooms are very large and it is outside of "the crazy". It also has free breakfast!
Chelsea R. replied:
We stayed at the Whitney Wyndham on Poydras. Close walk to The French Quarter without paying the French Quarter Price! They were fantastic. I've also stayed at The Indigo in the Garden District. Modern style but overpriced in my opinion. Both rooms had windows, but they really aren't necessary:)

Honey Island & Oak Alley & Laura Plantations. Preservation Hall

Shannon Want: do the Jean LaFitte swamp tour and if you're up for it, rent bikes and ride all around the Mississippi and to the Garden District, see the Cemetary, the kids might like the Steamboat ride or aquarium. It's a great place, you'll all love it. Oak Alley is beautiful and the drive across the Pontchartrain Bridge is cool too:)
Hello guys!
I'm going to San Francisco for the 1st time in June with a friend and i'm wondering if any of you have any suggestions on Hostels or b&b's that are located...
Sharyn N. replied:
Yes, stay away from the tenderloin area. Fabulous shopping jn the Union Square area. Id get a hotel right there. Watch out for street creatures, they say a lot are actors that never made it...they are amazing cons. Do go to Pier 39, its typical touristy stuff but the food is amazing in most spots....go to the Sour dough bread bakery at the Pier....enjoy..San Francisco is a favourite spot of mine. Keep safe:)

I've never stayed at this hostel, but the location and view are stunning. http://www.sfhostels.org/fishermans-wharf I usually stay at the Kimpton Argonaut Hotel nearby. Enjoy! San Francisco is wonderful!
The Visit Calgary website has a great accommodations page that still has lots of hotels available for Stampede 101. http://www.visitcalgary.com/accommodations

This is right outside SJO airport, so it might be a stretch to get here from Libera, but it's nice and central for day trips. (Poas / Jaco / Arenal / Doka / etc ). I've stayed here on 3 different trips and highly recommend. http://casamarin-costarica.com/

Check the Unis in London; they used to rent out halls of residence rooms during the semester breaks at very reasonable prices. Usually ensuite showers and catering available....and right in the centre of London! e.g. http://www.universityrooms.com/en/city/london/home
I'm looking for a rental in or near Kelowna for the August Long Weekend (Preferably Lakeside; Sleep 10) Air B&B and VRBO have proven to be completely useless. Thanks.

Edinburgh and York - how many days would it be suggested to stay in each city. Any hotel/B&B recommendations in either city? Thanks!!
Ken D. replied:
One day alone to walk round the walls of York. Another for the National rail museum, another for the minster and surrounding area. Then there is Cliffords tower, and Kirkland museum.....another day. Then if into archeology Jorvik centre and numerous other digs in the city. At least a week, if you want to see York properly.
