Dave there is no such thing as a cheap orthodontist. However I can highly recommend Dr. Puszczak at Callingwood Orthodontists780-481-8668 Jackie's teeth are now perfect! He did exactly what he said within the timeline given and her teeth really are beautiful! Worth every penny! (Choke, choke! )

I don't know about cheap, but the guy I see in Edmonton is fantastic. Dr. Shawn Russett

I'm having a crown replaced at the University of Alberta School of Dentistry - prices are about half or less (I had a complete exam & 4 bitewing XRays for $110 and my cleaning will only cost $65. I see that they do orthodontics too. Gotta get in when students are in session (right now) and be able to be there for your appointment(s) Here's the URL http://www.dentistry.ualberta.ca/PatientCare.aspx

Can't get any better than Dr Ahpin. He goes to our church too! But I agree with Laurie, cheap and orthodontist shouldn't appear in the same sentence.

Dr. Cory Liss did my invisalign braces. It's was just over $8000 total(my work benefits covers a decent chunk of this). This price is ALL IN, covers everything. All appointment, replacement braces, xrays, images. I'm on a 2 year time line and if it goes over it's still covered. Also if you pay upfront they knock 10% off if I remember correctly.

Hi there - it depends on how many trays you need. My initial was 25, did another 25, and I'm doing final refinement of 21. Very little movement on the laterals which has made the adventure not worth it. I paid $5,500 which was a "friend of dentist" rate. When you compare rates - make sure you find out how many final retainers you get - I'm only getting one set to save money.
Invisalign costs the same, if not more than traditional braces. So that price seems pretty reasonable. I'd only suggest it if the patient was dead set against traditional braces - braces work much more efficiently and have a better end result.

I went to [this guy](http://drjohnortho.com/home/) a few years ago and had a great experience; came in at 50% of what another guy quoted me. Strongly recommended.

I went to Harfield Ortho off McLeod. They have their own lab and make Essex plastic retainers (remake of invisalign) and I paid $125 per tray. I recommend them to everyone!

I work at a reputable NW general practitioner's dental office and we charge roughly 5500 for invisalign... depends on the number of trays but that is the average the past number of months at our office, anyway. The price also depends on the value of the Canadian dollar at the time, as the trays are ordered from and created in the U.S. 6500 is a tad high, and 8000 is super high!!, but specialists (aka orthodontists) are always more expensive. Also keep in mind, as someone else remarked, Invisalign looks/sounds good, but sometimes traditional metal "train tracks" braces are far more effective at shifting the teeth ... not everyone is a good candidate for Invisalign, depends on the degree of shifting your wife needs. If you are looking for a decent and respected orthodontist, we think highly of Dr Robert Kinniburgh, fwiw.

Thank you for all the helpful comments!!! Does anyone have recommendations on the new technology of "Damon" metal braces vs traditional metal braces? It appears from Dr Graas's website that he doesn't offer the Damon brackets. The smaller brackets may be more comfortable when David is playing his trumpet. Thanks!

Dr. Antosz at Market Mall in Calgary has a very expensive computer system (a few years ago it was the only one in western Canada, I don't know if this is still the case, and it escapes me now what it was called) that calculates the adjustments necessary to the braces, speeding up the timeframe the patient must wear the orthodontics. We were very satisfied.

I didn't have it myself, but have heard from Many ortho as well as ppl who have had them Say it takes longer, so do the "glass" brackets. They are more convenient for the "look" but that's it. I had the clear brackets on for the look factor at the begi nning, and they stained and Dr. Took them off and switched them to the metal brackets as my front teeth weren't moving as well. I can Pm you all the details To payment plans etc that I had with Dr Bhalla... If you like.
Norma L. replied:
Brittany Olsen . Any info you care to share would be awesome. It's for my grand daughter, and no dental care plan at all. I'm on a regular dental plan, but it will be all cash out of pocket for her work.

Ok, so, Dan went to Dr. Wolk. He is in the Northland Professional Building behind Volkswagon. I know when Dan had his, he did installments for his braces. Perhaps they still have something like that.
