Scroll down, there are several shoe posts. Also Spartan Racers Worldwide group just had a recent slew of posts on shoes. Also the group NE SPHATENS has an actual website with a link on OCR gear reviews. Personally I wear Salomon Speedcross 3, but havent used them in a race until June 7 I will in Monterey.

Haven't done any races since my injury Tanner Farenik Still on therapy just running on my jumpers. Wish I could race on them ;-) http://www.miamijumpers.com/models.html

My first two races where on AVIA trail Runners from KOHLS with Dr. Scholl inserts. Yes I noticed the water logging but didn't care at the time. After I wore them out (they were shot after training then each race), I started the research. I personally like a lot of shoe, I am not fond of minimalist shoes. That is why i chose the Salomons Speedcross, they are light but have a lot of cushion. By mile 6 my feet can be sore and it's not fun.

Poppy Barley! I have a pair of their boots and flats and they are both amazing, I can wear them for 12+ hours and not feel a thing (in a good way).

Alberta Boot makes a similar style boot to this, and as a plus they're made right here in Calgary. You can even choose your leather from the many rolls in the back of the store. I'm assuming these will cost you more than the imported options, but you get to support a local business and Ben is a great guy.

The style is known as a Chelsea boot fyi The thick thread isnt the most common but it does come around

Check out The New Balance store in Crowfoot, lots of their shoes are available up to 6E, there is also Soul to Soul in North Hill mall, they have a pretty good selection too. Other than that you are SOL.
farpazoo replied:
For more formal/business style shoes, Rockport makes wider models. There's a Rockport store in Chinook Centre, I've also seen them at the Bay and Shoe Company. In terms of New Balance models, try the 928 walking shoe and the 990 v3 runner. I'm also 4E and I have a pair of each.

If you're looking for running shoe type stuff, check out The Tech Shop. 2 stores in town (4 th street across from Wurst and 19 th st NW). They'll actually size you and make some recommendations. They do special orders too at no extra cost. Good luck box foot!

I posted about this not too long ago, https://www.reddit.com/r/Calgary/comments/5 o8355/need_some_advice_on_buying_shoes/ Not your exact situation, but, the comments had some great info. I ended up going to MEC and getting a pair of Keens. They're awesome. Worth the money so far. Maybe MEC can help? I did end up buying 3 different pairs of shoes before I settled on one I was happy with. Love their no bullshit return policy.
ISO shoe bench; shoes mysteriously being chewed up continuously - apparently I need better storage.
