There's a chap called Tony Earls who used to go under the name of 'Lawn Doctor' but now is 'Trinity Lawns' (I think). Anyway, he used to do our lawn years ago and did a great job given the fact the builders pretty much removed the topsoil and laid turf on pure clay. It took a couple of years but the lawn looked lush.

I can recommend Easigrass Cambridge for artificial grass, best way to have decent looking lasting grass with this "mud" Just thought I'd give this option as it's brilliant for kids and pets too
