I can only tell you who to avoid; Nick's out of Somerville is utterly unreliable. TBH, your best bet might be to go with one of the national chains. We had to get someone last minute (after our dicking by Nick's) and they were also local and terrible. I don't recall the name unfortunately.

Just moved with Stairhoppers. It was perfect. Check out their yelp. The reviews are super positive, which is why we chose them. Absolutely perfect.

GoBornToMove.com was incredible. It cost me $220 (that includes $40 tip) to pack two bedrooms into a truck and drive it from Savin Hill to Somerville & then unload it. Took two hours and I literally stood there and watched them. Highly recommend.

I've used A+ Moving and Storage twice now and have no complaints. Price was very competitive and they did the job quickly (i.e., no stalling/driving slowly to drive up the cost) and everything got there without scratches or dings. They use blankets/wraps on everything.

If you look in the Cambridge News there are always adverts for a man with a van. I can't promise how good they are though. If you can get away with just a van and do the moving yourself we used Cambridge Car and Van hire by Tesco on Newmarket rd.
