I am looking for a great, patient, understanding eye doctor that will work with self-pay patients. Any recommendations? Thanks
DyAnn S. replied:
I had gone to Premier Eye group ever since they opened and even paid out if pocket for expensive Lasik there. Now that I have no coverage they will not see me any more. Pathetic.
Bernadette M. replied:
Dr. Peter Sakol is the best ophthalmologist in the area. https://www.drsakol.com/#doctor
Emily F. replied:
Dr. Tomes at lenscrafters is super nice
Alex B. replied:
Give Wagman Eye Care in Camp Hill a call and ask if they accept self-pay! ( (717) 761-3153 ) Dr. Wagman is amazing, and super friendly! Mon-Thurs 9-4
POLL: Need a new eye doctor, Total Vision Care sucks, so don't recommend them. Do you love your eye doc? Please share!
Laurie S. replied:
Without a doubt, 100% Dailey Harvey Eye Assocs in Camp Hill (NOT related to another Dailey we all know and love). I first went to them when my regular eye dr couldn't remove a hunk of metal I got in my eye and I've stayed with them since. I also had my parents switch to them and recommend them to our employees. They're ophthalmologists and offer a zillion different services. http://www.daileyharveyeye.com/
Claudine J. replied:
Come see me<-----I practice Tuesdays & Wednesdays at the Carlisle Walmart vision center:)
Rachel K. replied:
I go to Kilmore Eye Assoc. in Mechanicsburg
Lauren A. replied:
Love Allegany Optical in Carlisle (2 locations) by Target & Kohls
Stephanie T. replied:
I actually go to an ophthalmologist in mechanicsburg. Off of 114. Dr. Rupp. She's awesome. Right down from walmart.
Christine L. replied:
I love Dr Rupp too but unless you have a medical condition your insurance won't cover for ophthalmologist. At least that is how it is with mine. But she is wonderful
Tania B. replied:
My favorite optometrist after working with many is David Bryden in Hbg off Linglestown Rd, but that may be too far
Tania B. replied:
Locally, I would recommend William Boshinski in Mech (his wife is good, too, used to be at Walmart), or Joshua Tomes or Ashley Hudson at Lenscrafters. If you need glasses & don't have insurance I can give you 50% off retail but I probably won't beat Walmart's prices. I can price match any contact price. Send me a message or call me if you have any questions.
Tami G. replied:
I go to Lens Crafters. Never had a problem
Brad C. replied:
Boshinski Eye Clinic in Mechanicsburg has been wonderful
Sally M. replied:
i love my eye dr....Dr. Hartzell there is an office in Carlisle and Mechanicsburg
Cynthia M. replied:
Dailey Harvey Eye Associates. They also have an optometrist (Dr. Holt) in addition to the ophthalmologists.
Can anybody point me to a good pediatric ophthalmologist in the area and a pediatric dentist? We are moving to area and I would like to get some appointments set up.

Bonnie K. replied:
I was very pleased with vision works on hartzdale Dr. Had previously used premiere eye in camp hill but they stopped taking my insurance so I had to switch. But I used premiere for over 10 years.
Christie L. replied:
We love Family Eye Care on Carlisle Pike. We currently see Dr. Shehan but all the doctors I've encountered there have been great!
Kathleen K. replied:
Dr Holts at Harvey, Daily Eye Assoc or Dr Guerrin at Pearl Vision.

Hi, all! My husband, our 3 year old and I will be moving from Florida to the Camp Hill area at the end of August. I need recommendations on good areas to live in in Camp...

JDC Pediatrics or Tan and Garcia, and Penn State Children's Hospital is located in nearby Hershey. And if you need help in your home search, consider reaching out to Michael Vogel.
Michael V. replied:
Meagan. I second Jennifer Hoover-Vogel pediatric recommendations. And if you are in need of help for a home search, feel free to message me.
Christina S. replied:
I recommend John Hopkins for Pediatric specialty care. Hershey was full and though it is about 1.5 hours away, the staff and dolce are great. We have been really satisfied.

Dryer Physical therapy in Camp Hill outstanding! They are very flexible in their hours

The nice thing about Camp Hill is that if you do need specialists outside the area, you are an hour and a half from Johns-Hopkins and Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia, and three hours from NYC.
We've been patients at Premier Eye Care for years. They have an office in Camp Hill near Cedar Cliff. I normally see Dr Stegura, and he's always very professional and nice.
