Schein Ernst have been good with my whole family over several years with both glasses and contacts. Also they had great emergency response and care when I needed to be seen urgently.
I'm looking for recommendations for a pediatric optometrist.

Amy Daniels I just saw that you are in New Cumberland-- depending on your needs, you might want to check out Premier Eye Care too. The last time I was there, the office was full of kids. If your child had a specific issue and/or needed surgery, I'd go to Dr McManaway without question. If you just need someone who is familiar with working with kids for basic eye care, I'd go to Premier. Note: they ALL have long waits for appts and it gets worse closer to when school starts in July/August/Sept. Premier has both ophthalmologists and optometrists.
Elizabeth N. replied:
I would give Premier a call and ask them which of their drs is best with kids. There's an office right on Cedar Cliff Dr (I go to the one in Shipoke but the drs rotate through all the offices). Again, if he had a more serious issue I wouldn't hesitate to suggest Dr McManaway in Hershey. He was great! I am just not sure it's worth the extra travel time. That said, his office is very geared towards kids.. so that is a plus.
