What travel insurance company does everyone recommend for a trip all over Europe for over 6 months?
Thank you in advance.

We used 1cover but if you have a pre-existing condition/injury I suggest using Travel Insurance Direct (TID). You need to read the fine print as some won't cover you if you have diabetes, require heart medication, mental health issues, surgery within a certain time frame before travel (and this could be upto 2 years prior to travel) etc. I had to have pre-existing injury cover as I had had a metal plate put in my shoulder 12mo prior to travel. The whole travel party must also have the same itinerary otherwise separate policies are required. Our last trip required 3 separate policies for 5 people. One for my pre-existing surgery, one for our daughter who flew out 2 days after the rest of us, and a third one for my husband who was going somewhere else for a week even though he was still in the same country as us. Our other 2 kids were put on my policy as they were staying with me. If you decide to do a side-trip to an African country you will require a different policy to one that just covers Europe.

I have used st George bank for my past few trips OS. Need to check what they cover. Some cover you to drive, some don't. St George covered me for riding motorbikes. Check the fine print to see if it covers you for everything, like medical /luggage/ electrical goods / passport etc
