There's no shortage of wedding photographers in Calgary at all sorts of price points. If you want to find a whole bunch at once that also may be less established, look or post in the Calgary Wedding Buy & Sell Facebook group. You might want to narrow down your destination too. Lake Louise and Moraine are a lot further from Calgary (about two hours drive) and more busy (and therefore difficult to shoot at) than closer places in Banff & Canmore or other mountain lakes like Minnewanka or Two Jack.

Jody Goodwin's work is beautiful and she charges $800 for engagement shoots - not $600, but significantly below $1,300.

That is an insane price for our area. I would say closer to $250 - $300 is average for a typical one hourish shoot, and most Calgary photographers are willing to include travel to Banff/Canmore. For $600 I would expect that you would have multiple hours of shooting at various locations, and $1200 would be a whole day! I recently did bridal portraits with a photographer that is new to Canmore, and she was lovely - and her pricing is very reasonable. $1,300 seems high for an engagement shoot!! I'm from Toronto, and when we were looking for a photographer, a lot actually included the engagement photos in the packages. (we decided to do destination fyi). Could it be that the fee includes traveling? I don't know how far the Lakes are from where you're staying. Check Groupon, sometimes they have crazy deals for photo shoots. Just do your research on the company before buying.

1300 for just engagement photos is a bit pricey, however you have to think about extra driving cost and how many hours you are expecting. Contact taylor hillier photography, she's doing our wedding and is very reasonably priced.

I know someone (Facebook friend) who had an awesome mountain engagement session done by [Dunford Photography ](http://www.dunfordphotography.com/#e-22). They had some kind of deal on mountain sessions for Canada 150. [Becky Jean Photography](http://www.beckyjeanphotography.co) is Edmonton-based but does mountain sessions sometimes. I was a bridesmaid in a wedding she shot and her photos are beautiful. A girl I went to University with used [Carlin Anquist Photography](http://carlinanquist.com) and her photos were stunning, but I have a feeling she's expensive.
