Han D. replied:
The small greengrocers on St Dunstans, Garden of Kent, has lots of lovely non-Oriental Asian food. But otherwise pretty much all the Asian shops in Canters are the Japanese/Chinese/Korean/Thai type.
Has anyone got good , inexpensive recommendations for an outdoor pig roast for next summer ???
John S. replied:
The Drum Inn at Stanford did one for a private group for us....about 80+ people. Don't know if they do outside catering. You could try Gingers opposite Aldi, they do outside catering. Good luck.
This morning I had a craving for a croissant. I jaunted along to Patisserie Valerie and came away with baked goods that tasted like they had been prepared sometime...
Chioma C. replied:
Cafe St.Pierre ... It is a wonderful French cafe and bakery next to The Black Griffin

The stall opposite Starbucks is part of our bakery,Supreme Bake( was 3 Cooks) on the corner of Roper Road, just past the level crossing....we don't claim to have authentic French croissants, however they are very fresh & we also have raisin swirls & cinnamon ones & you will get a very warm welcome from all of us,looking forward to seeing you soon hopefully
Andrew T. replied:
Thank you very much, everyone! Looks like St. Pierre is the clear winner. I've had a few baguettes from them, but never a croissant. I'll rectify that tomorrow!

Can anybody recommend the perfect village to live in, close to Canterbury? I currently live in Canterbury city centre, but am considering moving to one of the villages...
Chloe M. replied:
I moved from the middle of Canterbury to Chartham as a 2 bedroom house here to rent was around £200 cheaper than the same thing in CT1/CT2. Bus service into CT doesn't run very late and I don't think it runs at all on Sundays but there is always the train too. It has a couple of pubs, post office, couple of shops and I think a gp surgery, not sure on that though.
Mandy S. replied:
Sturry, Westbere or Fordwich as Claire Smith has said, have it all.
Hey, does anyone know where I can get a load of change changed please? Which supermarket has one of those machines? I know I can bag it all up and take it to the bank...
