Who is a great family doctor? Farris and I were told today that our doctor would not be talking our new school BC/BC shield insurance.
Jim H. replied:
I see Dr Hefner (Prominence Point Area) and I really like him. I also like Dr Haller in the same office.
Brenda L. replied:
Dr. Turner at Medical Assoc. is taking our insurance
Nancy S. replied:
Got a call today. Dr. Gold can't be my physician anymore!!!!
Julie K. replied:
Casey Turner at Medical Associates!
LeAnn S. replied:
Dr. Alan Mills... corner of Holly Street and Hwy 5... I know several teachers that go to him
Becky F. replied:
Dwight and I got a call yesterday from Medical Assoc informing us that our upcoming scheduled appts with Dr. Gold would not be covered by our insurance. Also, Kimberly was told that she would not be covered by her insurance with the school system. This stinks! We have been a patient of Dr. Gold's for years and really don't want to change to anyone else. However I can't afford a lot of high bills due my going to an out of network dr.
Brenda H. replied:
I learned last week Dr Gani Internal Medicine is also Primary Physician. Her husband is with the Gastrology Group.
Mekie-Ty A. replied:
We had to change too. Dr. Vickery no longer on our plan. We are going to Dr Hefner . he use to be with Vickery.so we were familiar with him.
Sandy M. replied:
We use Richard Jackson, on 20 just before East Cherokee.
Chrystal P. replied:
We use Dr porter and Donahue with Bridgemill Family Medical. Love them.
Deb D. replied:
I love Dr Donahue. They recently went to Wellstar so they probably take the insurance.
Kathy D. replied:
We also use Bridgemill Family Med. Have been going there since 2000 right after they opened! They are awesome and you never have to wait long.
Pat G. replied:
Stacy, It is the insurance company, BC/BC, that made this decision, not Dr. Morris, Medical Assoc. or Northside. Nugget is in the same boat and is furious. You can still see Dr. Morris as an out of network doctor, but it would cost a little more. Hopefully, something will change, but for now at least you can stay with her out of network if you want to.
Mollie G. replied:
Dr. Katherine Neely in Hickory Flat!
Brandy H. replied:
We love Dr. Neely at Harmony Family Medicine.
Andrea F. replied:
Dr. Turner at Medical Associates takes our insurance, I have an appt Monday and called to make sure before I went.
Deb D. replied:
Dr Vickery at Mill Creek's mother is a friend of mine. Her husband was kin to Uncle Bill Foster. Insurance should have a website that lists drs but drs change what insurance they take so often its hard to keep up. Dr Jackson's office manager is the mom of one of my Girl Scouts from years ago. You can check with them. The good thing about Medical Associates is they can do about everything there.
Amanda B. replied:
All of the doctors listed above are fantastic primary care. The only one I do not recommended is Dr. Haller. Dr. Mills is a genius, but getting an appt can be difficult. Dr. Neely in Hickory Flat has some great patient care! Casey Turner is very proactive as well as Richard Jackson on 20. I would have to say I see Hefner, but Dr. Graham Matthews in Woodstock has to be the best around.
Patsy H. replied:
Dr. Haller or Dr. Haley but not sure what insurance they accept.
George T. replied:
Dr. Richard Jackson on Hwy 20 & East Cherokee. They do take BC/BS and are taking new patients.
Deb D. replied:
I know for a fact that either Dr. Matthews or someone he used to be in with paid a patient a home visit to give them good news.
