We're aging out but were very happy for years with Rainbow Pediatric on Commerce. Dr. Herrmann's great. Funny story: When our daughter was a baby and we were clueless and needed to find a pediatrician, we took her in to Dr. Herrmann. Kicking off the appointment, she said "Is this one of those meetings where you're interviewing a bunch of doctors or do you want me to be your doctor? Because if it's the former, I've got no time for that." I know that level of no-bull directness is not for everyone but it was exactly what we needed to hear at the time. We trusted her implicitly from that point forward.

Our company is exploring health insurance options for 2017 and we'd like to stay as local to Decatur as possible. Does anybody have recommendations? Thanks in advance!
Melissa P. replied:
Consider a high deductible plan /health savings account paired with an employer sponsored direct primary care membership! Paired with DPC, your insurance agent may be able to negotiate a lower insurance premium for the same plan. Located in downtown Decatur, $75/ month includes all MD visits & telemedicine. www.empowerdecatur.com
