Got it! And posting it here in case anyone else wants it. It's "Jane Keyser's Clinic", Hartswater, 053 474 2016
Patricia T. replied:
Hi Everyone, Just been chatting to Jane Keyser, and here is the full story. She has built an alternative birth unit, or "active birth unit" offering water-births in Hartswater which has 20 beds. They are about to start building a theatre and when it is completed mothers won't need to be transferred if there are complications. At the moment they don't handle premature births, but when they have added on, they will and will also offer Kangaroo Mother Care. At the moment if a very high risk situation develops they have to transfer the moms to Kimberley. Anyone who needs her services can call her on her cell phone 082 703 7030. Thank you so much for getting me going Odette -- I am trying to keep a comprehensive list of what is on offer around the country, and I would never have got all this information if it were not for your inquiry!

Here's a link to the other lady, in Bloemfontein -- Yolanda Maritz -- just been chatting to her and she sounds lovely. She says she does the antenatal visits, and also ultrasounds if the mother wants them. The mom moves down to Bloem just before her due date, and Yolanda delivers the baby in the guest-house, and then keeps the mom there for five days of follow-up. She had two doctors backing her. http://www.facebook.com/yolande.maritz.39?ref=ts&fref=ts

Yes, the doctors seem to range from bad to awful in terms of active birth. Although I know Gayle has managed to have at least one decent birth there. You can use me as well if you want since it's in my area - sarah@birthways.co.za . Heather Solomon might also work there - http://www.doulahire.com/
