I do remember a bakery on Crwys Road, on the corner of Fanny Street (never stopped finding that street name funny when I was young! lol) in the opposite side from the Co-Op/BHF and Dominos, facing Cathays Methodist Church. It's a house now, if you go past the house, it has a long, wonky, 'T'-shaped television aerial on it now... That house was definitely a bakery until the mid 1980 s, my mum tells me it was where the soldiers at Maindy Barracks used to buy bread from. Could that be one of the bakeries you are referring to? Sorry if that's rather vague, but I was only about 6 in the mid-'80 s so don't remember much more, only remember that cos we used to have our Summer Holiday Club at Woodville Baptist Church Hall a little further down Crwys Road back in those days! The Co-op was "Lo-Cost", Domino's was the Crwys Cafe (and had cartoony 'faces' painted on the windows) and the BHF Charity Shop was 'First Choice' (a shoe shop) back then too! lol
