El Cholo on Whittier Blvd had live entertainment in the mid 70's--in fact, The Hager twins from Hee Haw fame used to play there. I remember thinking as I watched them live waiting for our table--"hey, these guys are gonna be stars". how about that.

Yep that's right Allan. As I said, I was probably 12 years old when my family would duck into the lounge there waiting for a table in the restaurant section and I'd see these twin brothers up on a platform stage playing guitar and singing great harmony songs and come to find out it was the Hager Brothers. John Hager went out with Karen Valentine (Room 222 fame) at the time and lived in the area.
