Where did you end up taking him? Both my older boys had traumatic dentist visits until we found Growing smiles. They are so great with the kids. Have TVs in the ceiling for each child to watch while they are getting their cleaning and they aren't afraid to give then relaxing gas if they get histerical.

We also went to Smile Starters in Conover. Trey heard Kalina had to go back for more work and he said he wanted to go back too. He had a filling and a crown. I just told him he needed to cooperate if he wanted to get his toy at the store after. The better he cooperated the faster he would get his toy. Something worked.

Ugh. I had a horrible experience with Roberts. We ended up at Northeast Pediatric Dentistry with Dr. Jackson. Loved her.

To make a very long story short, he made me feel like a bad parent when Brady went in with a mouth full of cavities. He also wanted to do the fillings at the hospital, which also meant another physical from a different pediatrician (which we would have to pay out of pocket for). We ended up with Dr. Jackson, who did everything in her office with an anesthesiologist that came there. Now, I know a girl whose son had to have a cavity filled there and they ended up using a papoose wrap on him to hold him still. Not sure how I feel about that, but sometimes, you have to restrain them to get it done. I know she uses the laughing gas and Valium if needed. I guess everyone is different. Sme have great experiences, others not so much. But I loved dr. Jackson. She didn't make me feel guilty and was really good with Brady. If you go, tell them I sent you.

Alicia Insley Smith we had something like that with Cj. He had a cavity and because he was a child they said he didn't need/they wouldn't give him a shot for numbing. He was held down and traumatized....I couldn't even force him to go he was so deathly scared. We have been through several dentists until we found the right fit. Gunnison had an abcess earlier in the year and it was so swollen and painful it had to be fixed right away. The regular dentist recommended Growing Smiles because they are really great with kids. I took him that day and they were so good with him. They reassured him and ended up giving him antibiotics to clear the infection before they would touch the bad tooth. Then when we came back in to so the actual pulling he was so wonderful with him, and even though parts of it was what would be traumatic he pulled through like a champ. I can't say enough good things about them.
