Bud Adams on Lake Chabot Rd. They're good, a little cheaper than most, and great to work with.
Arlene J. replied:
"Mechanic in CV" is pretty general. Year, make, and model are important to know when making a recommendation. Each shop should specialize with up to date software and scan tools to diagnose properly. World Imported Car Service in San Leandro is where I take my European car.
Carol C. replied:
Kevin Hinkley auto. Sent me home many times instead of finding something. Also garantees his work.

Can someone recommend a good mechanic in Castro Valley? Is there one in town or do you go to another garage to have your car worked on? Where at?

Bud Allen is a scam artist that preys on old women. My neighbor took her car there he gave her a $3500 estimate. When I took the car to the shop and asked to show me what needs to be replaced, he backed off his estimate and was stuttering. What a piece of trash

I've been going to Bud Adams for a while. Never had to come back for a second repair of the same part. He even talked me out of spending more money on something I didn't need, I appreciate that honesty. And they're walking distance from my house so I can easily leave the car there!

Yes right across the street on Mission at Purrfect Auto. They do great work and Mel is awesome. I've gone there for years and never been anything but happy with work and the price. He has even come to my house 6 blocks away and helped me start my car...twice, and for free. I trust them and don't rust easily.

I own a Volkswagen, and I have been happy with the service I've gotten at Car Care Service on Park St. Very reasonable. I've found European Auto on High St. very helpful, but out of my price range. Good luck!
Tom S. replied:
I agree with Lisa Ginardi European Auto is the place to go. I talked to Whitmore and he said they send V.W.'s to European auto.
