Same thing happened to us last fall. Our exterminator would not tear out walls either but they did leave an odor absorbing bag. I was skeptical but it really worked! Smell was gone within 24 hrs and we left bag up for about a month. Adams Exterminating in Lewisville.

Romney pest control went thru a difficult to get into an area of or attic to find the dead rat that was over my teenage sons bathroom vent and causing white the stink. The Romney guy seemed To enjoy the hunt.
