Recommendations for jewelers in or around Charlottesville? Hi fellow Cvillers! So, it's gotten to be that time in life when one person starts looking for a ring to give...

I would very highly recommend Tavia Metal. Tavia does awesome custom work, she made my wife and I's wedding rings and we constantly get compliments. [Here's a link to her site.](http://www.taviametal.com/)

I bought a gorgeous antique engagement ring from a place downtown called The Jeweler's Eye. I believe he also does custom work, but involving antique stones and bands. Definitely worth a look. I've also shopped rather extensively at Keller & George and, while I don't know about their custom work, I've been pleased with my experiences there.

My engagement ring was a custom order from Keller and George, and they did a wonderful job. My husband also bought his wedding ring there. We both found the salespeople very friendly and helpful (Charlene spent a fair amount of time researching designs for me, but I landed up going with another jeweler), and overall had a very positive experience.

The Jeweler's Eye downtown is awesome for both vintage and custom work.
Jeweler recommendation? Hey guys-
I'm going to be purchasing an engagement ring in the next six months. Does anyone have any suggestions about a jeweler I could work...

[The Jeweler's Eye!](http://www.jewelerseye.com/index.html) It's tucked in next to Zocalo on the downtown mall and Roger, the owner, is AMAZING. He specializes in vintage and custom jewelry and is really great at what he does. I got a vintage 1920s diamond and platinum engagement ring there and he made me a custom wedding band with the same tiny forget me not flower design that the engagement ring has. I seriously can not recommend them highly enough and they are super reasonably priced. I accidentally damaged some of the filigree work on one of my rings a couple of years ago when I almost mangled my hand; I thought my ring was ruined but he was able to clean it all up and get it back to its original state using lasers to repair it. He did all that, again, at a shockingly reasonable price and I was without my ring for only a few days.

My fiancé and I just purchased our wedding bands at Keller and George off of Barracks road, behind the Kroger. We absolutely loved working with them. We custom designed my wedding band, with sapphires and diamonds all around that perfectly match the ones in my engagement ring, and the price was much less than we had expected, and they were really attentive and friendly through the whole process. I definitely think it's worth looking at a few stores, but they're absolutely worth a look.

We used Lynne Goldman Studios Downtown. They have some pre-made designer ones but Lynne also helped me with a custom design on another piece of jewelry and she was awesome. This isn't in Charlottesville, but if I had known of them, I would have definitely bought my engagement ring from them: Winged Lion on Etsy. They have existing designs that they will almost always customize for you (stone size and type, metal, stones in the band, etc). Their pieces are quite unusual.

It's as low as $3 to rent from amazon? Best I've got. (Good idea, I need to rewatch this, too!) https://smile.amazon.com/Hocus-Pocus-Bette-Midler/dp/B006G3JPWO/
