Looking for a restaurant suggestion. Good morning folks,
My fiance and I for Christmas this year are planning on taking both of our parents and siblings out for a fancy...

For a nice meal Sims would be quieter but also maybe not as bright. Good food. Hopyard and Terre Rouge are both bright but can get loud. Papa Joes might be a good bet. Quality food though not fine dining. Large space (and a somewhat private room). Yeah come to think of it Papa Joes is a solid option.

I would say papa joes as well. Old people love it there.

My top choice for your requirements would be Dundee Arms Inn http://www.dundeearmspei.com/dining/. It's classy, well lit and has good food. Other options include: Sims (good for steak, but probably too dark) Terra Rouge (good, but not a big fan of the atmosphere for fine dining) Pilot House Waters Edge Redwater Rustic Grille

You’re not going to find any quiet respectable places to eat in Prince Edward Island that fit your criteria. Best to just not come to the island all together.

How fancy is fancy, and do you mean on Christmas day? The Lucy Maud Dining Room can be very bright if you go during the day (massive windows, great view of the bay which can be breathtaking in the winter, I went in February just after a fresh snow covered the ice). It's not a common pick, so it can be empty, when we went we were the only ones there. But... it's in the middle of a college. It's people training to be cordon bleu chefs. It's very fine dining food though. Consistently high class when you're in the bubble of the dining room. The schedule can also be a little wonky. https://www.hollandcollege.com/culinary-institute-of-canada/dining-room/

Sims is really nice, but I agree with how dim/dark it can be. They have a little alcove in the back called the carriage house (I think), where it is quieter and they might be able to turn the lights in that area up if you call and explain.

I would recommend Water's Edge or Red Water Rustic Grille though as they typically have better lighting than some of the other great restaurants in town.

You might be able to check out Top of the Park at Red Shores (not on a race night). Their Christmas buffet is really great and they tend to scale it up a bit at Christmas. They are usually very accommodating as well with accessibility requests

Fancy and bright limit the options. I would recommend you call ahead to Sims, Pilot House, and a bunch of other restaurants, explain your issue and see if they can accommodate you with a room separate from the crowd. If your major concern is her, better to get a room you like then take her to best restaurant and not be able to enjoy it.

Piatto has a side room that might suit your needs. It's not normally that bright but should be quieter as long as you can get the side room for your group. We had a birthday supper for my Girlfriend there once. So does this mean Clinton and Amy are home for Christmas?

Sims, Red Water or Terre Rouge would be my choices
I'm thinking taking Peter for a couple of days in Iles de la Madeleine, we would likely take our bicycles. Has anyone been over in the last couple of years? Would you...
