We use Kids Smiles Pediatric Dentistry Shelby Township. I really like them. We went to one well known dentist on Garfield in Clinton Twp. and I found them to be rude and they would not let me go back with my 3 year old autistic son for his first ever dentist appointment. I found that to be appalling. They were also untruthful with their billing. Kids Smiles has been very nice and my son actually likes going there.

The perfection Dr. Baribeau expects from his staff is through humiliation, my neice worked there another staff had set up the wrong tray...Instead of being sympathetic and explain what she had done wrong....He squirted the front of her uniform with mustard and ketchup...very professional!!! Not!

Dr. Meyer at Birchwood di my son's filling at 3 yrs old. My son never felt it or saw the needle. They were VERY patient and great with the boys.
Shelley K. replied:
Baribeau will put your child in a straight jacket they call a papoose if they freak out. Stay away from him. Dr Tache is great and has payment plans. He cares about teeth more then money.
Mary G. replied:
Dr Baribeau.

Vicki G. replied:
Dr. Baribeau gave my daughter a root canal when she was younger. When I took her to another dentist. They asked why he did it? My new dentist said it was unnecessary to put a child through that.As the baby tooth would have falling out. It was for insurance and money. My insurance covered the root canal. I would NOT take a child to Dr. baribeau.
Charlene B. replied:
Dr Robbins on Holland Ave. she is great with my grandchildren.
Andrew P. replied:
Dr. Baribeau gave me a lifelong fear of going to the dentist. I'm 37 now and I am scared to death to go to the dentist.
Shannon B. replied:
Dr. Baribeau is awesome... and expects nothing but perfection from his staff!
Kim H. replied:
Dr. George Tache on Holland....He sees all three of my Littles...and they jump and smile when time to go see him...my 7 year old has had 2 fillings and loves Dr. George. Great staff as well...Dr Baribeau was my dentist (I'm 44 now) I didn't like him then...
Katie K. replied:
Baribeau is terrible. Same thing happened to my son, he kept filling his baby teeth instead of just pulling them out, which traumatized him. I'm sure to get more money from the insurance companies. He's useless and him and some of the staff were mean to my kids. They made my kids cry every time they went. We go to Delaney and Plunkett at 17 & Garfield. My kids used to hate going to the dentist but now they love it. Bailey in Richmond wouldn't see my son because he was "non cooperative" at 3 years old. I wouldn't recommend her either. She's not very professional in my opinion but I know people who love her.
Jessica P. replied:
My son has been going to Dr. Baribeau sense he was 2. He is now 13 and still going to him. I recommend him. He's great with kids of all ages, and explains everything to the parents.
Staci F. replied:
Thanks everyone for the info!! Okay Dr Tache seems like he's worth a try. Every one said good things. Trust, patience, and an agreement is important to us. I didn't find reviews online for baribeau so it is nice to verify that I'm not the only one who didn't feel it with him. I mean he was willing to sit down and explain things, but his attitude was I'm better than any other, with money written on his face. My friend is a hygienist there, she was great!! Staff too!! But doctor wise just didn't feel it. Our Family dentist is on 23 and Dw Seaton He was great with her, but he wants to do silver filings on a toddler. I just don't know. Baribeau said the one tooth was rotting, she has bad luck teeth, needed xrays, Paton said nope. Just a cavity. Easy going. So I'm confused. One more opinion will have to happen. Thanks again!!
