Kimberly H. replied:

Amy G. replied:

Elizabeth T. replied:
Valerie, Dr. Weigle and Alyce have a waiting list for therapy, but I'd be happy to add your daughter. I can also discuss other resources with you. Feel free to email me at elizabeth.thornburgh@chattanoogaautismcenter.org or call me next week...423.531.6961.

Tonya D. replied:
Dr. Simms is good. There is also another male psychiatrist whose name I can't remember, but he's a part of this group and does a lot of work with autistic children.
Anna S. replied:
Dr. Ken Pittman from Agape Behavioral Health sees a lot of children with autism. 423-443-3336
Alex P. replied:
Dr. Jennings is in the same group as Dr. Pittman. Dr Ferguson sees kids in his practice off Courage Way. Then there's Dr. Apperady but I don't know where her outpatient practice is
Megan R. replied:
Dr Katherine Goudelocke is a child psychiatrist here. She is very nice & since she is new to the area, you can still get an appointment in a reasonable amount of time.

Kathy Scott is great, she’s at Behavioral Health Associates. (423) 899-0024 . They work with most local health insurance and she’s amazing. She’s sort of a mom type figure (for me, I’m 30) but she’s just neat and open minded and funny....but she’s also open to do a meet and greet and discuss what you want and then she’s happy to recommend someone that may fit better. Wish you luck finding a match.. I had to visit 3 around here til I found someone I felt like I could connect with. It’s worth it!

If not seeing them in person would work for you I could recommend BetterHelp. It's online therapy that let's you text chat, voip, and like FaceTime your therapist if you'd like.

Just a counselor, not psychologist, but Anita Rivers on Hixson Pike. My husband had a bad experience at Valley many years ago and has been leery of mental health professionals ever since. He decided to use work-offered counseling after his father passed and she was the closest one to us on the list. He felt really comfortable with her, and improved tremendously.

Dr. Gargas at Siskin Institute, the waiting list is long.
Rachel L. replied:
I love Dr. Gargas, once you get in if you need an appointment it takes a few days but they can normally squeeze you in. There also is Dr. Ricardo Causo. Another waiting list, his appointments don't have a long as a wait as Dr. Gargus.
Jennifer W. replied:
My daughter got the first available with Dr Gargas which was february 13 th as of 2 weeks ago. Now the next available as of Friday is July 23 rd 2012 - essentially a year away!
Rachel L. replied:
When we made our appointment it was in April or May of 2010, we didn't see Dr. Gargus till December 2010 because of a cancellation. We saw Terri in October of that year and they are marvelous people.

My grandson's peaditrician recommended a place today. I think it's callled the Peadiactric Center. She said it's a new place but other parents she's been referring there says it's wonderful. No doctors just therapists. We will see next week how long it's going to take us to get in. We need more resources available for our children. The ones we have are great but the waiting lists are so long. early detection and therapy has been a god send for our grandson. the Siskins Early Learning Institute was a god send, but he only got to attend for a yr. He got in through the Escalade program through through TEIS, once he turned three, he could no longer attend. TEIS is Tennessee Early intervention. They were wonderful.

Brandi, I'm sorry this question didn't get responses. It sounds like your psychologist is recommending your daughter find an M.D. and get a consult on adult ADD medicine. I don't know of any who specialize in that. Perhaps ask her primary physician? She/He might be that person even.
June P. replied:
I would suggest Dr. Ken Pittman, an excellent psychiatrist who specializes in spectrum and co-occurring conditions
Dave B. replied:
But, I'm pretty sure Dr. Pittman isn't taking adult clients. I thought of him too but then remembered the age.
Sue L. replied:
We have a son, 30, who is on adult ADD meds and see Dr. Fox, with UT Family Practice, next door to Erlanger. He seems very knowledgeable, kind and patient with son. I like him a lot. Very much recommend.
