Evolution studio on summer street offers spin classes in addition to barre and yoga. They have a lot of membership options, and thy use the mind and body app for booking classes.

You don't need to join a gym...you can find those machines on Craigslist for cheap sometimes. We bought our treadmill for $40 on Craigslist, I believe...good thing, because it's never used! As for a gym, I belong to SLS Fitness on Chelmsford Street in Lowell and highly recommend them. It's all 30-minute classes: metabolic effect (which is their signature class), boxing bag, mobility, kettle bell, spinning, TRX, yoga, circuit training, weight room, sports conditioning, interval boxing, and more! The classes are usually on the smaller side, and the bigger classes always have more than one trainer. They pay attention to each person and help you out with your particular needs. Avoid Best Fitness ... cheap but kids never clean the machines after themselves, can get crowded so you wait, then canceling training or membership they don't make easy.... never mind 9.99 a month is more like 60.00 in April for extra fees...

Avoid Best Fitness. They make it impossible to leave.

My kids love Choice Fitness too. They are 7 and 9 and the girls seem to do a good job handling both the really young kids and the older more independent ones at the same time. It also helps that it's walking distance to Dunks for a little 'good behavior' reward ha ha

Once you spent 3 years at Forever Fitness, Best Fitness is like heaven.

Choice Fitness. Pretty crowded after the holidays....which is typical.

SLS Fitness for sure! Almost like having a personal trainer without having to pay for it! Go visit, take a class, and talk to Sherri (the owner). It's such a fantastic community; everyone is so supportive of each other, there are so many classes to choose from, and the trainers really care about the members. I actually like going to work out!

Not sure what you're looking for but I joined Dynamic Strength and Conditioning in December and it's great. They are organized group workouts and the trainers are awesome. I would never go back to a typical gym even though I'm still paying for one!

Cub scout camp goes to Boston Rock Gym in Woburn, great for ages 8+. My tweens went to both Woburn and Nashua at various time with groups and with friends. Both are fun, seems to me one of them has more self-belaying rigs...think that is Woburn, so they can do more climbing and less watching and waiting there.
