As a carpenter with a lot of experience I will say the wooden gift side can be hard work, there is a lot of cheap shit wooden stuff out there of which it’s hard to compete with. Don’t however let it put you off but I’d be wary of trying to make it your main income as there is a lot of big businesses knocking out 100/1000 s of benches a day. The kitchen idea I like the sound of as we have a solid timber painted kitchen that will need painting in coming years and I’m dreading it myself. As already pointed out a lot of kitchens are made from poor quality MDF or Chipboard doors with Vynal, melamine laminates I’m sure you are well aware of this though.

People have a short attention span, and even less when its social media. The idea is to be able to capture peoples attention by professional, interesting ads. They also importantly all need a call to action, or a place to contact. I don't specifically specialise in social media advertising. However I do offer to my customers, 10 x FB Adverts designed professionally for £30. As well as helping smarten up your page with designed cover photos for just £10. Tom - as well as offering a managed service (starts at £500 per month including £350 of direct spend on Ads) I provide FB Ads training online if that's of interest to you. Sara Flay is a business coach and is doing some work helping start up businesses in another way (I think it's a charity or something, not entirely sure but she's based in Wales). Brian Fakir is also in Wales - he's got a part time business selling coffee so probably knows lots of venues, how you can approach them etc:)

Hi Steve - perhaps target something around a supercar event? There's one in Surrey in June for example? Obviously I'm going to give https://www.facebook.com/372499206235318 Local Advertising That Works (my employers!) the hard sell, as we do fuel nozzle advertising, so you could target key petrol stations around the venue, which would give a 100% motorist audience.
